When you are going through the pain of loss, are you turning to God or away? When loss disrupts our plans, how we see God determines how we respond. We can either run to Him or away from Him. God doesn’t waste loss—He walks with us through it, brings healing, and works it for our good when we choose hope, truth, and connection over isolation and despair.
In moments of grief, it’s easy to feel confused, distant, or even question God’s goodness. But loss can become a place where faith is either weakened or deepened. The invitation is not to walk through it alone, but to encounter God in a real way and discover hope even in the hardest seasons.

Unpacking the Message
Loss is inevitable, but how we process it is shaped by our perspective of God. Many people respond to loss with questions, blame, or withdrawal—but these can pull us away from God if we’re not careful.
Jesus modeled the right response to loss. When He heard about John the Baptist’s death, He:
-
Took time to withdraw and process
-
Stayed compassionate toward others
-
Returned to the Father in prayer
Healing from loss is a journey that requires:
-
Running to the “God of all hope,” not away from Him
-
Choosing mourning with hope instead of slipping into hopeless grief
-
Trusting that God is still working, even when we don’t understand
-
Speaking God’s promises rather than being led by emotions
-
Staying connected to others instead of isolating
Ultimately, loss doesn’t have to derail God’s purpose—He can use it to deepen our faith and reveal His goodness.
